Children are “linguistic geniuses". Do you feel prepared to support your multi-language learner either in the home or classroom? If not join me as we share knowledge and learn more about how to support all young children in becoming biliterate and bilingual.
Why is this Important?
Research suggests speaking more than one language benefits children's social, cognitive, and physical development. Using what we learned about "Fund of Knowledge" in Session #1, it is important for teachers to engage children's prior understanding and experiences which are encoded in their home language.
Participants will walk away refreshed by dialogue and ideas explored in interactive whole group and smaller breakout sessions. Resource handouts will be provided.
