Anti-Bias and Social Justice Curriculum-Implementing the 5 lenses of Diversity
Session #1
So excited about this session!
We will share books that celebrating the different socialized identities of race, gender, class, family structure and diverse abilities. Looking at each Anti- Bias goals and expand on our Anti-Bias and Social Justice practices.
Why is this important:
Adults need to teach children to see other children. All children will encounter people who do not look, sound, or act like them. Anti Bias curriculum aims to provide children the window to see others from a place of empathy and compassion. We will also discuss how to introduce tender social justice topics to children in an appropriate way. We discuss teaching children to be critical thinkers as they understand the challenges in the world.
Participants will walk away refreshed by dialogue and ideas explored in interactive whole group and smaller breakout sessions. Resource handouts will be provided.
